West European Studies
In addition to the common requirements for a regional concentration, students who wish to concentrate in West European Studies are required to spend at least one semester (or one summer) at a Washington College abroad program, available in a large number of Western European countries. The West European Studies language requirement may be fulfilled at Washington College with French, German, Spanish, or Italian. Students may substitute another European language offered elsewhere. In addition, students are required to take two courses from List A below and three courses on Western Europe at an approved Washington College abroad program, or its equivalent in consultation with the Director of International Studies. Examples of such courses appear on List B below.
